The HEART training teaches healthcare practitioners how to identify and respond appropriately to potential human trafficking victims in health care settings using victim-centered approach practices and trauma-informed care principles.

Texas health care practitioners are required to take an HHS-approved human trafficking training for each license renewal period. The HEART training is an HHS-approved course in accordance with Texas House Bill 2059 (86th Session, 2019) and offers 1.5 continuing education credits for certain professions. Please read the Participant Information sheet for details.

Note: The Archived HEART course (available until September 1st, 2022) is no longer open for new enrollment, but the participants can still access all previous Certificates from the Dashboard.
