This training provides guidance to Deaf Blind with Multiple Disabilities (DBMD) program providers on how to successfully develop, complete and submit required paperwork to the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) for review. 

This course will cover the following: 

  • The submission of enrollment, renewal, and revision of Individual Plan of Care (IPC) packets;
  • What information is needed to to successfully complete Individual Plan of Care (IPC) forms, transfers, Intellectual Disability/Related Condition Assessment (ID/RC) Forms, Individual Program Plan (IPP) and 
  • How to avoid making the most common mistakes when completing and submitting these forms.

This training is still being developed and is in a testing phase.  Please do not attempt completion of this training until after this notice is removed from the intro.  If you take this training while this notice is still up you will have to retake it once it is fully launched.  We estimate that it will be available by mid-April 2024.

HHSC is pleased to announce a portion of the in-person Deaf Blind with Multiple Disabilities (DBMD) Provider Training will now be a web-based training offered through the HHS Learning Portal.  This on-line training is replacing the first two-day portion of the in-person DBMD Provider Training that was held twice a year in Austin.  This does not replace the two-day portion of the in-person training conducted by David Wiley of Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired.

This is an online training opportunity for all DBMD program providers.

The DBMD Provider Training fulfills the mandated training requirements established by the Texas Administrative Code Title 26, Part 1, Chapter 260, which states that agency staff must complete the DBMD Program Service Provider Training as described in TAC Rule §260.205(d) within 90 days of assuming job duties and annually thereafter. This training is intended to provide information regarding DBMD program policy and operational processes. The training material is presented by staff from the Texas Health and Human Services Commission and Texas Medicaid Health Partnership (TMHP).

This training fulfills the requirements that personnel: are trained on and knowledgeable of:

    • acts that constitute abuse, neglect, and exploitation;
    • signs and symptoms of abuse, neglect, and exploitation; and
    • methods to prevent abuse, neglect, and exploitation;
    • how to report

HHSC is pleased to announce the in-person Community Living Assistance and Support Services (CLASS) Provider Training will now be a web based training offered through the HHS Learning Portal.  This on-line training is replacing the in-person CLASS Provider Training that was held twice a year in Austin. 

This is an online training opportunity for all CLASS case management agencies (CMAs) and direct service agencies (DSAs).

The CLASS Provider Training fulfills the mandated training requirements established by the Texas Administrative Code Title 40, Part 1, Chapter 45, which states that agency staff must complete the training as described in the CLASS Provider Manual Section 2000 and Section 3000 within 60 calendar days of employment. 

This training is intended to provide information regarding CLASS program policy and operational processes. Newly contracted CMAs and DSAs are strongly encouraged to take this training. Existing CMAs, DSAs, agency staff, and other stakeholders are welcome to take this training as desired. The training material is presented by staff from the Texas Health and Human Services Commission and Texas Medicaid Health Partnership (TMHP).
